This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and setting up the Panduit Industrial Distribution Frame (IDF) model ZDF242430.

Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Conduit, Fiber cables, Copper cables, Patch panels
- Unpack the IDF enclosure
Remove the IDF enclosure from its packaging and take out the miscellaneous carton on top.
- Mount the IDF enclosure
Open the front door and center section. Secure the enclosure to the wall using the six mounting holes on the wall section.
- Install power connections
Install an outlet box compliant with local IEC standards, pull the power cable through the conduit into the outlet box, and terminate the power and ground according to local codes.
- Install fiber trunk cables
Pull the fiber trunk cables through the conduit into the enclosure, route them through the Panduit Duct, and install them into the FRME1U Fiber Enclosure.
- Install copper trunk cables
Pull the Switch-A trunk cable through the conduit into the enclosure, route it up the left side of the rear Backplane, and secure it using Tak-Ty and D-rings.
- Install switches
Install the Copper Switch A in RU7 and connect it to the patch panel in RUs 5 and 6. Repeat for Copper Switch B in RU11.
- Connect power to switches
Attach the power cords for both switches to the UPS and ensure all connections are secure.
- Verify installation
Check all connections, ensure the enclosure is properly mounted, and verify that all cables are secured and routed correctly.
