Tools needed:
Latch Tool, Screwdriver (#2 Phillips, 3/16", 2.5mm flathead), 3/8" socket or box wrench, Tools to cut enclosure sidewalls (e.g., Greenlee punch), Drill, Level
Supplies needed:
Mounting feet kit (if applicable), 5/16" bolts (for steel enclosure), 3/8" bolts (for stainless-steel enclosure), #6 AWG Infrastructure ground cable, Fiber-optic trunk cable, LC fiber-optic connectors, Fiber-optic termination tools, Category 6 copper cable, Copper cable termination tools, Power wiring (#14 AWG recommended), Rigid conduit, Silicone rubber sealant (if required for NSF certification)
- Prepare the Enclosure
Open the enclosure door by turning both locks toward each other using the Latch Tool. If reversing the door, remove hinge pins, screws, and hinges. Drill new hole locations on the opposite side, reinstall hinges and screws, then turn the door 180 degrees and mount it to the opposite side. Insert pins to secure the door. Install screws and sealing washers in the original hinge hole locations.
- Install Mounting Feet (Optional)
Turn the enclosure on its side with locks oriented toward the top. Install the Wall Mounting Feet into the back of the enclosure, aligning the threaded studs with the holes. Insert sealing washers into the holes from the outside, with the tapered cone toward the hole. Turn the enclosure upright. Thread nuts onto the mounting foot studs and tighten to 200 in-lbs.
- Mount the Enclosure
Determine the mounting location. If using mounting feet, drill holes 22.5" apart horizontally and 25.56" apart vertically. If mounting directly to the wall without feet, drill holes 22.5" apart horizontally and 22.5" apart vertically. Mount the enclosure securely to the wall using appropriate bolts (5/16" for steel, 3/8" for stainless steel) or Unistrut. If required for NSF certification, seal the perimeter between the enclosure and the back mounting surface with silicone rubber sealant.
- Install Internal Components (if applicable)
For Universal Network Zone Systems, remove wires from terminal blocks and then remove the terminal blocks. Install the customer-supplied switch according to the switch manufacturer's instructions and the supplied Field Wiring Diagram. Install the supplied ground wire to the switch. Do not apply power prior to terminal block removal and switch installation.
- Connect Power and Uplink/Downlink Cables
Refer to the Field Wiring Diagram supplied inside the unit for specific wiring instructions. Connect power entry, uplink entry, and downlink entry cables using appropriate conduit and connectors. Ensure all connections are secure and meet local electrical codes. For customer-supplied switch power input wiring, use #14 AWG recommended wire and connect to the Field-Wiring Terminal.
- Route Patch Cords and Finalize
Route fiber-optic and copper patch cords through the designated management features. Connect the Zone SYS to the uplink using the provided CAT6 copper patch cords or LC fiber patch cords as applicable. Close and secure the enclosure door by turning the locks.
