How to Install the TGJT Tool Kits
Step-by-step guide for installing the finger guard, blade guard, and blade and anvil kits for the TGJT tool.

Screwdriver, Small flat screwdriver
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Replacement blades, Replacement anvils
- Install the Finger Guard
Snap the finger guard down around the two spring wire retainers, aligning the five cornered holes with the two dowel pins on each side. Squeeze the trigger handle if necessary for clearance.
- Remove the Old Blade
Remove the finger guard as per the previous step. Then, remove the screw holding the wire retainer, support plate, and blade on both sides of the tool.
- Install the New Blade
Install the new blade by reversing the removal steps. Keep the screws slightly loose during installation. Once the blade is in place, snap the finger guard back over the dowel pins, squeeze the handles together, and tighten the screws to align the blades and anvils.
- Check the Anvil Condition
Examine the anvil for wear. If it is heavily worn, replace it with a new anvil. Remember that anvils are reversible if not previously done.
- Align the Anvils
Using a sample TG Wire Cap/Wire Assembly, place it into the tool. Push the outer top edges of the anvils towards the back of the tool, then squeeze the handles closed and tighten the anvil screws. Adjust the ball plunger to ensure the cap is removable with slight resistance.
