Supplies needed:
Boot, Collar, Cable, Load bar, Divider, Strain relief collar
- Prepare the cable
Thread the boot and collar onto the cable. Remove 1.5 inches of the outer jacket using a wire stripping tool. Cut the foil flush with the cable jacket and, if applicable, form the braid into a drain wire.
- Arrange the conductors
Fan the twisted pairs into respective quadrants, ensuring the brown pair is opposite the orange pair. Insert the divider posts into the cable and arrange the conductors according to the T568B wiring scheme while minimizing untwist.
- Insert conductors into the load bar
Guide the conductors into the load bar holes while holding the conductors in the divider. Slide the load bar towards the divider until it is flush, ensuring that the divider/load bar is centered and perpendicular to the cable axis.
- Complete the plug assembly
Grip the strain relief collar and insert the cable sub-assembly into the plug housing. Push the sub-assembly into the housing until the collar locking tabs engage. Use the TX6 PLUS Plug Assembly Tool to complete the termination.
- Finalize the installation
Trim or press any excess drain wire between the collar latches. Push up the boot and engage it with the collar latches. Visually check the plug to ensure the assembly is complete.
