- Mount the PDU in the Rack
Align and install the mounting buttons with the screw holes on the face opposite the outlets (for outlets facing the center of the rack) or on the sides of the PDU (for outlets facing the back or front of the rack). Install the PDU by inserting the mounting buttons into the keyhole slots on the PDU mounting bracket in the rack. Ensure the PDU is securely attached.
- Attach the Input Cord (for Universal Input PDUs)
Open the input cord connector latches on the PDU. Insert the appropriate input cord plug into the connector. Close the input cord connector latches on the PDU to lock the input cord securely into place.
- Ground the PDU
Locate the external ground bonding point on the PDU chassis. This is typically on the surface with the outlets, or on the surface with circuit breakers for dual-sided models. Connect a ground bonding cable from this point to a grounding strip, grounding bus bar, or a known earthed reference terminal in the building. Ensure a reliable grounded (earthed) connection to reduce the risk of electric shock. Use a star washer with the external earthing screw for supplementary Earth bonding to the rack metalwork.
- Connect the PDU to a Power Source
WARNING: To reduce the risk of electric shock, ensure the feed circuit breaker is OFF before connecting the PDU. Turn the feed circuit breaker OFF for the dedicated circuit. Ensure all circuit breakers on the PDU are set to ON. Connect the PDU's input power cord to an appropriately rated branch circuit. Refer to the label on the PDU for input ratings. Turn the feed circuit breaker ON. The PDU's OLED screen will display a status bar, and then the Main Menu. Switched and Monitored & Switched PDUs will show lights corresponding to each outlet as it powers up.
- Configure Universal Input PDU Input Type (if applicable)
Access the PDU's Web interface (refer to the User Manual for connection instructions). Navigate to the 'System Management' page under 'Settings'. Select 'Set Input Cord' under 'Actions'.
