Crimp Tool (CT-920, CT-920CH, CT-2931, CT-940CH/BJO), Wire strippers, Cable ties

Supplies needed:

Panduit Direct Burial Compression Connector (GCE1/0-1/0-L), Mounting screws (if applicable), Non-conductive material removal tool

  1. Prepare the Connector and Wires

    Remove all non-conductive material from the mating surfaces of the connector. Prepare the wires according to the specifications for the specific GCE1/0-1/0-L model, noting the required wire sizes and number of crimps as indicated in the documentation. Refer to the nameplate or datasheet for specific wire size requirements if they differ between models.

  2. Perform Crimp Connections

    Using the specified crimp tool (CT-920, CT-920CH, CT-2931, CT-940CH/BJO), perform the required number of crimps on each wire connection. Ensure the crimps meet the specifications (e.g., 1 crimp exceeds 837, 3 crimps meets 837). Do not use CT-940CH or CT-2940/ST with this connector, as damage to the crimp tool may result.

  3. Secure the Connection

    For wire-to-ground rod or wire-to-rebar installations, ensure the connector is properly seated on the ground rod or rebar. For wire-to-wire connections, ensure the correct number of connectors and spacing are used as specified for the wire sizes. Use cable ties as shown in the diagrams for securing the installation if applicable.
