  1. Remove the cable sheath

    Mark a length of six feet (2 meters) from the end of the cable on the outer sheath. Use a sheath knife to ring the circumference of the sheath at this mark and gently flex the cable to separate the sheath. Discard the removed sheath section.

  2. Prepare the cable core

    Cut the ripcord and unwrap the outer strength members. Remove any water absorbent tape and binder strings from around the buffer tubes. Separate the color-coded buffer tubes from the central strength member and cut the central strength member to the proper length for the closure.

  3. Prepare the optical fibers
