How to Install the FlexCore 4RU Universal Enclosure
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for mounting and wiring the FlexCore 4RU Universal Enclosure (FDFUE4GY) in a rack.

#12-24 screws, #10-32 screws, Cable ties, Labels
- Remove the shipping bracket
Unscrew the Phillips head screws on the top and bottom of the enclosure to remove the shipping bracket.
- Mount the enclosure to the rack
Position the enclosure mounting brackets between existing rack screws, align them with the RU tick marks, and attach using #12-24 screws. Hand tighten the screws to allow for adjustment.
- Secure the enclosure
Slide the enclosure onto the mounting brackets, then install and tighten #10-32 screws through each mounting bracket to secure the enclosure. Fully tighten the #12-24 screws.
- Install fiber cassettes
Open the enclosure door, slide the tray out to the cassette change position, and install the fiber cassettes as needed. Ensure to disconnect any patch cords if replacing cassettes.
- Label the enclosure and cassettes
Apply the provided labels to the tray surfaces and the enclosure door for identification according to EIA-606-B standards.
- Connect incoming and outgoing cables
Route incoming cables to the corresponding cassettes, using cable ties to secure them and prevent snagging. Ensure proper cable management.
- Verify installation
Check all connections and ensure that the enclosure is securely mounted. Use a multimeter to verify electrical connections if applicable.
