Phillips Head Screwdriver, Wire Strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
#12-24 screws, #10-32 x 1/4” screws, Cable ties, Labels
- Remove the shipping bracket
Unscrew the Phillips head screws on the top and bottom of the enclosure to remove the shipping bracket.
- Mount the enclosure brackets
Position the enclosure mounting brackets between existing rack screws, aligning the bottom flanges with the RU tick marks. Partially install two #12-24 screws to secure the brackets without fully tightening.
- Secure the enclosure
Slide the enclosure onto the mounting brackets and install eight #10-32 x 1/4” screws through the brackets into the enclosure. Fully tighten the #12-24 screws to secure the brackets to the rack.
- Install cassettes
Open the enclosure door and slide the tray out to the second stop position. Disconnect any patch cords if replacing cassettes, lift the cassette up to disengage, and install the new cassette.
- Label the installation
Apply the provided labels to the tray surfaces according to the cassette configuration, ensuring proper identification as per EIA606-B standards.
- Verify installation
Check all screws are tightened and that the enclosure is securely mounted. Use a multimeter to verify proper electrical connections if applicable.
