Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Heat gun
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Splice chip adhesive tape, Cable ties, Heat shrink tubing
- Remove the cover
Use a screwdriver to remove the three screws securing the cover of the splice cassette. Set the cover aside.
- Install the splice chip
Center the splice chip on the base and secure it using the splice chip adhesive tape. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Insert fiber cables
Feed the fiber cables into the rear of the splice chip, ensuring they are properly aligned and secured.
- Secure cables with cable ties
Place cable ties over the fiber cables to secure them in place, preventing any movement that could damage the fibers.
- Heat shrink the cables
Bring the cables through the heat shrink tubing and use a heat gun to shrink the tubing, ensuring a tight seal. You may stack two heat shrinks per slot for a total of 24 cables.
- Connect and finalize
Attach the heat-shrinked cables to the connectors. Reinstall the cover and secure it with the three screws removed earlier.
