How to Install the C2SDT9W06DAW1 Net-Contain Aisle Containment System
Step-by-step guide for installing Panduit Net-Contain aisle containment systems, including wall panels, door adapters, doors, and ceiling structures.
Estimated time: 3h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Bubble level, Laser or string line, Drill, Torx driver
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Cage nuts, Floor tiles, Foam seals, M5x0.8 12mm button head torx screws, M6 Flange Hex Nuts, M6 x 1 x 70mm Hex Head Bolts, M5 x 0.8 x 10 Hex Head Screws, M6 x 1 x 10 Hex Head Screws, M6x12mm hex head bolts, M6 nuts, 1/4-14 x 1 Self Drilling Screws
- Position and Level Cabinets
Position the first cabinet in the desired location, aligning its front with the cold aisle floor tile. Use a bubble level on the vertical rails to ensure the cabinet is level. Adjust legs as needed. Ensure adjacent cabinets are at the same height and parallel. Place subsequent cabinets 1-2 inches from the previous one, level them, align their tops, and move them flush with the preceding cabinet. Repeat for all cabinets in the row. For opposing rows, maintain a spacing of 72.0" ± 0.5" (1800mm ± 13mm) between cabinet edges. Ensure all cabinets within a row are leveled to within ± 6mm (0.25").
- Install Wall Panels
Begin by installing a Wall Panel at the far right end of the cabinet row (when facing the front). Align the Wall Panel with the threaded holes on top of the cabinet. Secure the Wall Panel using two M5x0.8 12mm button head torx screws. Trim two pieces of Foam Seal to fit the Wall Panel and attach one piece of 25mm x 25mm Foam Seal to the end of each Wall Panel. Apply a Foam Seal Strip along the edge of the installed Wall Panel to seal the gap between adjacent panels. Slide the next Wall Panel over until it is centered and the foam is compressed. Repeat for all cabinets in the row. Note: Wall Panel Covers are installed at the end of Section 4.
- Prepare for Door Adapter Installation
If using S-Type cabinets, knock out the square hole with a screwdriver and remove the tab. Insert a cage nut into the opening and rotate it 45 degrees with a screwdriver to secure. For N-Type cabinets, this step is not required. Drill up to twelve 8mm (5/16") clearance holes through the floor tiles in the locations shown for attaching the Door Adapter feet. A minimum of two screws per foot is required when securing the feet to the floor.
- Attach Door Adapter Components
Attach the feet to the floor using M6 Flange Hex Nuts and M6 x 1 x 70mm Hex Head Bolts, with a minimum of two screws per foot. Attach the Aisle Beam, centering it between the Wall Beams. Secure with M6 Flange Hex Nuts. Attach Cabinet Brackets to the cabinets using M6 Flange Hex Nuts and M6 x 1 x 10 Hex Head Screws (for N-Type) or M5 x 0.8 x 10 Hex Head Screws (for S-Type). Attach Foam Seals in the approximate locations indicated. Attach the Transom, centering it between the Wall Beams. For 42RU or 48RU cabinets, attach the Transom directly. For 45RU or 51RU cabinets, assemble the Transom to the Transom Extender first, ensuring the flange hooks around the underside of the Extender for 45RU. Secure the Transom assembly with M6 Flange Hex Nuts. Attach the Blanking Panels using M6 Flange Hex Nuts, leaving them loose initially.
- Install Doors and Ceiling Structure
Install the Dual Door onto the Door Adapter Frame using (8) 1/4-14 Self Drilling Screws. For the ceiling structure, install the initial Aisle Beam into the Wall Panels one cabinet in from the end of each POD, centering it and securing with M6x12mm hex head bolts and M6 nuts. Repeat for the other end of the row. Use a laser or string line to set a base line for alignment. Install additional Aisle Beams, aligning their cut-outs to the baseline and securing them with M6x12mm hex head bolts and M6 nuts. Ensure Aisle Beams are spaced appropriately. Install Ceiling Panel Stops between each set of aisle beams, leaving them loose, and slide them to the full back position. Install Ceiling Support Brackets in alignment with holes in the Aisle Beams, adjusting width if needed, and secure with M6 x 12mm hex head bolts and M6 nuts. Secure the Support Bracket to the Door Adapters at each end. Finally, install the Ceiling Panels by sliding them under the hold-down on the Aisle Beam, sliding the Ceiling Panel Stop under the panel, tightening its hardware, loosening screws under the Ceiling Support Bracket, sliding the hold-down over the panel, and tightening the screws.
- Install Wall Panel Covers
Using two M5 pan head screws, attach one Wall Panel Cover to each Wall Panel.
