How to Install the Panduit Overhead Power Distribution System (415Y3-11LHH3B)
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Panduit Overhead Power Distribution System, specifically the 415Y3-11LHH3B model, ensuring proper mounting, wiring, and initial setup.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
7/16" Nut driver or socket wrench, Phillips Screwdriver, 2-29/32" hole punch, Torque wrench covering 50 to 100 in-lbs
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Nuts, Locking washers, Washers, Bolts, 2.5" EMT conduit and fittings
- Install the Suspension System
Attach threaded rods to the building infrastructure according to the Support Interval Diagram. Ensure that the supports are level and aligned before tightening the bolts.
- Install the Power Feed Module (PFM)
Locate the conduit entry point on the PFM and punch a source feed entry hole using a 2-29/32" hole punch. Attach the base bracket to the strut supports using nuts, washers, and lock washers, then position the PFM on top of the base brackets.
- Connect the PFM to Power
Ensure all source feed breakers are off. Connect the conduit to the PFM enclosure and then connect the wires to the busbars inside the PFM using the provided lugs for the three phases, neutral, and ground.
- Install the Power Distribution Module with Breakers (PDM-B)
Set the PDM-B on the suspension bracket so that the male end is 1" to 2" from the PFM’s bottom receptacle. Ensure the OPD module breakers are in the OFF position before proceeding.
- Engage the PDM-B with the PFM
Loosen the engagement nut to the Initial Engagement position. Align the guide rails of the PDM-B to the receiving rails in the PFM and gently slide the PDM-B into the PFM until it reaches initial engagement. Tighten the engagement mechanism until the PDM-B is flush with the PFM.
