Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Dielectric silicone grease
- Prepare the conductor
Wipe any contaminants off the conductor's insulation and mark it at 1-1/8" using the specified strip length as a reference.
- Strip the insulation
Remove the insulation from the conductor up to the 1-1/8" mark without scoring or nicking the bare wire. For larger wire sizes, bevel the edge of the insulation.
- Insert the conductor sleeve
Remove the conductor sleeve from the connector, cut it to the appropriate size if necessary, and reinsert it into the conductor port.
- Loosen the set screw
Remove the set screw access plug and loosen the set screw to allow for conductor insertion.
- Insert the conductor
Lubricate the exterior of the conductor insulation with dielectric silicone grease, then insert the conductor until the reference mark is even with the end of the port.
- Tighten the screws
Tighten the pressure screws to the recommended torque specified in the documentation.
- Replace the access plug
Replace the set screw access plug to secure the connection.
