Overview

The NSI Industries Polaris ISPB2/0-4 is a pre-insulated, direct burial, submersible connector designed for reliable splicing of copper and/or aluminum conductors. This 4-port connector accommodates wire sizes from 2/0 AWG down to 14 AWG, offering a versatile solution for various direct burial and temporary submersion applications. Constructed with a high-strength 6061-T6 aluminum alloy body, it provides excellent electrical and mechanical performance. The connector is insulated with a specially formulated high-strength dielectric plastisol, molded for a precise fit and offering abrasion, chemical, and UV resistance. It will not support combustion. Installation is simplified, requiring no taping, compounds, heat shrink, or field cutting. Removable access plugs cover the hex screws used to tighten the radial-tipped set screws. The ISPB2/0-4 meets or exceeds UL 486D and ANSI C119.1 specifications for use in wet or damp locations and temporary submersion. It is rated for 600V and a 90°C operating temperature. The dual rating allows for use with both aluminum and copper conductors. This connector is reusable when properly installed with no more than one conductor per port. Not suitable for direct burial with THHN/XHHW wire; for enclosure use only. Cold temperature rated to -45°C.
