Overview

The NSI Polaris IPLMD600-5 is a 5-port, multi-tap mountable dual-sided entry connector engineered for high-current splicing applications. Designed to handle conductor sizes from 600 MCM down to 6 AWG, this connector supports both copper and aluminum cables with current ratings of 1035A (copper) and 810A (aluminum) at 600V. The aluminum alloy body is insulated with high-dielectric strength plastisol, providing abrasion, chemical, and UV resistance while preventing combustion. Each port features a hex screw terminal with removable access plugs, allowing tool-free closure of unused entry points. The dual-sided wire entry design enables installation flexibility, with mounting holes on either side for direct attachment to troughs, panels, or wireways using 1/4" bolts. The connector eliminates the need for additional taping or covers, reducing installation time and material costs. Pre-loaded with oxide inhibitor, the IPLMD600-5 ensures reliable, long-term connections in cable trays, ducts, raceways, or panel boards. Operating temperature range is rated to 90°C with cold temperature capability down to -45°C. Not recommended for fine-stranded or flexible wire applications. Available in multiple port configurations (3-12 ports) to match job requirements.
  • Dual-Side Wire Entry: Form secure connections between 5 conductors quickly using the double-side entry ports sized for wires between 600 MCM and 6 AWG
  • Mounting Holes: Installation is simple with mounting holes on either side of the connector to attach directly to panels or troughs using 1/4" bolts
  • Ergonomic Design: The plastisol insulation features rounded corners for a comfortable grip and is UV, abrasion and chemical-resistant for durable performance
  • Removable Plugs: Each port and adjustable set screw is covered by a secure plug to prevent debris, moisture or contaminants from entering the insulated connector
  • Parallel Rated: This connector is specifically designed and rated for parallel installation, providing a safe and secure way to handle larger projects
