Overview

The NSI Polaris IPLD250-3 is a 3-port, dual-sided entry, pre-insulated multi-tap connector engineered for secure, high-current splicing of 250 MCM to 6 AWG copper or aluminum conductors. Designed for installation in cable trays, panel boards, ducts, raceways, or troughs, this connector eliminates the need for tape, covers, or additional supplies—streamlining every job with a single tool solution. The aluminum alloy body is wrapped in high-dielectric strength plastisol insulation, providing abrasion, chemical, and UV resistance while preventing combustion. Each port is pre-loaded with an oxide inhibitor and features removable access plugs over hex screws for precise torque control (175–225 in./lbs) using a 1/4" hex key. The IPLD250-3 supports a 600V rating, operates at 90°C, and is dual-rated for copper (290A max) and aluminum (230A max) cables. Cold-temperature performance is verified down to -45°C.
  • Dual-Sided Wire Entry: Form secure connections between 3 conductors quickly using the double-side entry ports sized for wires between 250 MCM and 6 AWG
  • Ergonomic Design: Rounded corners and a smooth exterior finish over the abrasion-resistant plastisol insulation make Polaris connectors comfortable to grip
  • Removable Plugs: Each port and set screw comes with a secure plug to prevent debris from entering the insulated connector
  • Pre-filled Oxide Inhibitor: All 3 dual-sided entry (DSE) ports come pre-filled with an oxide inhibitor gel to prevent corrosion and provide low-contact resistance
  • Full Product Line: Polaris matches your application with multiple UL-listed parallel configurations across a range of gauges and number of ports
