Overview

The Hammond R102-124-000 Type 4X die-cast aluminum junction box is a rugged, watertight enclosure designed for industrial electronic and electrical applications. Measuring 4.72 x 9.45 x 2.6 inches, this enclosure features a shallow lid and deep body construction, maximizing interior space while maintaining a compact footprint. The aluminum die-cast material (G Al Si 12 / DIN 1775) provides corrosion resistance and durability, ideal for harsh environments. Key features include a neoprene oil and petrol-resistant gasket rated for -40°C to +80°C, ensuring reliable sealing against moisture, dust, and contaminants. The enclosure meets NEMA 4X, IP66, and DIN 40050 standards, making it suitable for outdoor and indoor industrial control equipment installations. Threaded enclosure holes facilitate easy installation, repetitive assembly, and disassembly, while captive stainless steel lid screws and mounting holes outside the gasket seal simplify maintenance. Internal mounting shelves along both sides of the enclosure include blind holes and grounding screws for secure component mounting. The space-saving single-channel mounting design allows the same hole to be used for both rear mounting and lid attachment, increasing usable interior volume compared to dual-channel enclosures. External zinc-die-cast mounting feet can be rotated 90° for flexible orientation, with engagement lugs ensuring secure fastening. Available in textured polyester powder coat beige (RAL7032) or light grey (RAL7035), the R102-124-000 is optimized for electronic instrument enclosures, electrical junction boxes, and terminal wiring applications.
