The Hammond Manufacturing R100 Series Type 4X Diecast Aluminum Enclosure (SKU: R101-120-000) offers robust protection for electronic instruments, electrical junction boxes, and terminal wiring. Constructed from G AI SI 12 / DIN 1775 aluminum die-cast alloy, this enclosure features a watertight, thick-wall design. Its dimensions are 4.72 x 4.72 x 3.94 inches, with a shallow lid and deep body for maximized interior space. The enclosure meets stringent protection standards, including NEMA 4X, IP66, and DIN 40050, and is CSA certified and UL Listed for use with industrial control equipment. Key construction details include captive stainless steel lid screws, with lid screws and mounting holes positioned outside the gasket seal to maintain integrity. The single-channel mounting system offers space savings and larger interior volume compared to dual-channel designs. Enclosure holes are threaded for straightforward installation and repetitive assembly/disassembly. Internal mounting shelves are integrated along both sides, featuring blind holes and grounding screws. External mounting feet, made from zinc-die-cast, are rotatable by 90 degrees and include engagement lugs for secure fastening. All sizes are equipped with inner blind holes. The standard gasket is made from neoprene, resistant to oil and petrol, and rated for temperatures from -40ºC to +80ºC. An optional inner mounting panel made of zinc-plated steel is available. The standard finish is a textured polyester powder coat in beige RAL7032, though unpainted versions can be supplied on special order. This enclosure is distributed by Gross Automation.
