Overview

The CompleTech CA860D is an offset pattern dipole antenna designed for reliable wireless communication within the 830-890 MHz frequency range. This antenna is engineered for dual-band operation and offers a consistent 5 dBi gain, making it suitable for critical industrial telecom and broadcasting applications. Its polarization is selectable between vertical and horizontal, allowing for optimized signal transmission and reception in point-to-point and point-to-multipoint link configurations. The CA860D features a durable, UV-resistant ABS/FG radome with PU foam filling, ensuring protection against environmental factors. The radiator is constructed from high-conductivity copper. For versatile connectivity, the antenna supports N-, TNC-, and 7/16-female connector types, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of transmission lines and equipment. Mounting is facilitated by an aluminum alloy bracket designed for poles with a diameter of 35-60 mm, secured with stainless steel V-bolts and self-locking nuts. The antenna is rated for a VSWR of less than 1.5, minimizing signal reflection and maximizing power transfer. It operates effectively within a temperature range of -40ºC to +80ºC and boasts an IP67 ingress protection rating, confirming its suitability for outdoor installations. The CA860D is DC short-circuited for lightning protection and features an integrated RF choke. Its construction prioritizes a combination of durability, light weight, and low wind load, with all electromechanics molded inside closed-cell PU foam. The antenna's H -3 dB beamwidth is typically 179º, and the E -3 dB beamwidth is typically 74º, with a front-to-back ratio of 6-10 dB depending on mounting. This antenna is an ideal choice for fixed and mobile installations where consistent performance and environmental resilience are paramount.
