Overview
Enhance your automation system with the ABB MTAC-01 Pulse Encoder Interface Module (SKU: MTAC-01). This module provides a reliable differential or single-ended interface specifically designed for digital pulse encoder connections. Engineered for precision and flexibility, the MTAC-01 operates seamlessly with either a 15 VDC or 24 VDC signal, accommodating a maximum frequency of 200 kHz. This capability ensures accurate data acquisition for high-speed motion control applications.
Crucially, the MTAC-01 is exclusively compatible with ABB IP20 rated drive models, ensuring a secure and appropriate integration within protected environments. Its robust design supports efficient data transfer, vital for maintaining optimal performance in industrial automation processes. The module's ability to handle high frequencies makes it suitable for applications requiring detailed positional feedback, such as robotics, CNC machinery, and advanced material handling systems.
When integrating the MTAC-01, ensure it is installed within an IP20 enclosure. The module leverages the internal extension bus interface for its voltage supply, simplifying wiring and installation. For optimal performance and signal integrity, adhere to recommended line lengths and conductor cross-sections for analog lines as specified in the broader ABB S500 I/O module documentation. The MTAC-01 is a key component for expanding the control capabilities of your ABB low voltage drives, offering precise encoder feedback for sophisticated automation tasks.

RCAN-01-KIT
CANopen is a higher layer protocol based on the CAN (Control Area Network) serial bus system and the CAL (CAN Application Layer). CANopen assumes that the hardware of the connected device has a CAN transceiver and a CAN controller as specified in ISO 11898.The CANopen Communication Profile, CiA DS 301, includes both cyclic and event driven communication, which makes it possible to reduce the bus load to minimum while still maintaining extremely short reaction times. High communication performance can be achieved at relatively low baud rates, thus reducing EMC problems and cable costs. CANopen device profiles define both direct access to drive parameter and time critical process data communication. The RCAN-01 module fulfills Cia (CAN in Automation) standard DSP 402 (Drives and Motion Control).
RDCO-01C-KIT
The RDCO-01 module includes the connectors for fiber optic DDCS channels CH0, CH1, CH2 and CH3. The usage of these channels is determined by the application but are normally assigned to the following: CH0 – overriding system (e.g. fieldbus adapter) - 10 MBd. CH1 – I/O extensions - 5MBd. CH2 – Master/Follower link - 10 MBd. CH3 – PC tools (such as DriveWare) - 10 MBd.
