- Select the Appropriate Cable Fitting and Disconnect Power
WARNING: Risk of shock, disconnect power before installation. CAUTION: Product should be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with national and local electrical codes. - Prepare the Armored Cable
Determine the working length of the conductor required inside the enclosure or device. Carefully remove a portion of the cable's outer jacket to expose the armor. Using a hacksaw, cut the armor to the specified strip length as indicated in the product table. Trim the outer jacket to adjust the exposed armor strip length. CAUTION: Do not nick or cut the conductor insulation during this process.
- Insert Cable and Tighten Gland Nut
Feed the prepared cable through the gland nut opening of the fitting. Push the cable until its armor firmly hits the internal end stop. Tighten the gland nut until you obtain an appropriate seal or to the maximum torque specified in the product table. Ensure the bushing seals evenly around the cable's outer jacket and that the cable remains centered to achieve an optimal seal.
