How to Install the MSC500 Controller

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the MSC500 Controller, ensuring proper motor connection and operation.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Ty-Rap® cable ties, Motor lead cables, Electrical supply cables

  1. Disconnect power

Ensure that the power supply is disconnected before starting the installation to avoid risk of shock.

  2. Connect motor leads

Connect each motor lead cable to the corresponding electrical supply cable by bolting the lugs together. Refer to applicable national and local electrical codes for proper bolting technique and tightening torque.

  3. Install insulator

Slide the insulator onto the bolted lugs as far as it will go, then slide it backwards approximately 1/8 inch to avoid overstressing the rubber insulator. Ensure the boot fully covers bolted lugs and any un-insulated portion of cables.

  4. Secure insulator

Secure the insulator in place by tightening the Ty-Rap® cable tie(s) and cut off any excess cable tie as close to the head as possible.

  5. Energize motor

Momentarily energize the motor to check for proper rotation direction and correct if needed.
