Overview

The ABB AC5X7 Adhesive Insulating Cover (SKU AC5X7) from ABB Installation Products is a 5 x 7 inch black insulating pad designed for H-Taps and C-Taps in electrical distribution systems. Constructed with a 6 mil electrical vinyl backing and a 1/8" thick butyl rubber mastic adhesive, this cover provides durable insulation and moisture sealing for compression taps, mechanical taps, and Color-Keyed® lugs and joints. The adhesive backing eliminates the need for taping, simplifying installation while ensuring a secure, long-lasting bond. With a voltage rating of 600V and a maximum operating temperature of 80°C (176°F), the AC5X7 meets the demands of industrial electrical environments. It is UL Listed (File No. E9609) for use with T&B covers and is not intended for submersion in liquid. The cover’s dimensions (5" x 7") are optimized for common H-Tap and C-Tap configurations, providing complete coverage and protection against environmental contaminants like dust and moisture. The black color aids in visual identification and heat dissipation. No tools are required for installation, making it a practical choice for both maintenance and new installations. The AC5X7 is packaged in quantities of 10 per standard package.
