Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Ty-Rap® cable ties
- Disconnect power
Ensure that all power to the system is disconnected to prevent electrical shock during installation.
- Connect motor leads
Connect each motor lead cable to the corresponding electrical supply cable by bolting the lugs together. Refer to applicable national and local electrical codes for proper bolting technique and tightening torque.
- Install insulator
Slide the insulator onto the bolted lugs as far as it will go. Then slide it backwards approximately 1/8 inch to avoid overstressing the rubber insulator.
- Secure insulator
Secure the insulator in place by tightening the Ty-Rap® cable tie(s). Cut off any excess Ty-Rap® cable tie as close to the head as possible.
- Energize motor
Momentarily energize the motor to check for proper rotation direction. Correct the direction if needed.
