This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the MD8F-1 Controller, including wiring and calibration procedures.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter, Crimping tool
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cable ties, Boot insulators
- Mount the controller
Secure the MD8F-1 Controller to the DIN rail using the integrated clips. Ensure it is level and firmly attached.
- Strip and connect wires
Strip the ends of the wires and attach them to the male and female motor disconnects as per the wire size specifications in Table III.
- Crimp connectors
Use an appropriate crimping tool to crimp the connectors securely onto the wires, ensuring a solid connection.
- Insert male pin into female barrel
Push the male pin into the female barrel until fully inserted, creating a secure pigtail connection.
- Slide boot insulator
Slide the boot insulator onto the pigtail connectors until it stops, ensuring proper insulation.
- Secure the boot insulator
Fasten the first cable tie at the middle of the boot insulator and tighten it snugly. Fasten the second tie 1/4 inch from the end and cut any excess tie flush with the head.
- Dress lead assemblies
Carefully dress the lead assemblies into the junction box, ensuring no wires are pinched or damaged.
- Verify connections
Use a multimeter to verify all connections are secure and correctly wired before powering on the system.
- Calibrate the controller
Follow the manufacturer's calibration procedure to ensure the MD8F-1 Controller is properly configured for operation.
