This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and wiring the M2D1M-3 motor disconnect, ensuring a safe and effective setup.

Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Ty-Rap cable ties
- Mount the motor disconnect
Secure the M2D1M-3 motor disconnect to the designated mounting surface using the provided mounting screws. Ensure it is level and firmly attached.
- Strip and connect wires
Strip the ends of the wires to the appropriate length as specified in Table III. Attach the wires to the male and female motor disconnects, ensuring correct polarity.
- Crimp the connectors
Use the appropriate crimping tool to crimp the connectors securely onto the wires. Ensure a solid connection to prevent any electrical failures.
- Insert male pins into female barrels
Push the male pins into the female barrels until fully seated, creating a secure connection.
- Install the boot/insulator
Slide the boot/insulator onto the pigtail connectors until it stops, ensuring it covers the connections adequately.
- Secure the boot with cable ties
Fasten the first Ty-Rap cable tie at the middle of the boot/insulator and tighten it snugly. Fasten the second tie 1/4” from the end of the boot/insulator and cut any excess tie flush with the head.
- Dress lead assemblies
Carefully dress the lead assemblies into the junction box, ensuring that no wires are pinched or damaged.
- Verify connections
Before powering on, use a multimeter to verify that all connections are secure and there are no shorts. Ensure the power is disconnected during this step.
