Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Crimping tool, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cable ties
- Prepare the wires
Strip the ends of the wires to the appropriate length as specified in Table III. Ensure that the wire ends are clean and free of insulation.
- Attach connectors
Attach the stripped wires to the male and female motor disconnects. Ensure that the connections are secure and match the wire sizes indicated in Table I.
- Crimp the connectors
Use a crimping tool to crimp the connectors onto the wires. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the crimping tool to ensure a proper connection.
- Insert the male pin
Push the male pin into the female barrel until it is fully inserted, creating a secure pigtail connection.
- Install the boot
Slide the boot/insulator onto the pigtail connectors until it stops. This will protect the connection from environmental factors.
- Secure the boot
Fasten the first cable tie at the middle of the boot/insulator and tighten it snugly. Fasten the second tie 1/4 inch from the end of the boot/insulator and cut any excess tie flush with the head.
- Dress the lead assemblies
Carefully dress the lead assemblies into the junction box, ensuring that no wires are pinched or damaged during the process.
- Verify connections
Use a multimeter to verify that all connections are secure and functioning correctly before powering on the system.
