How to Install the K1601PCC-R Side-Mount Clampable Bushing Well
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the K1601PCC-R Side-Mount Clampable Bushing Well onto the side wall panel of oil-filled tanks, ensuring proper fit and secure mounting for 15kV and 25kV class connectors. DANGER: All apparatus must be de-energized during installation.

Clampable bushing well gasket, Lockwashers, Nuts (3/8-16 or M10 x 1.5), Clamp
- Prepare and Mount the Bushing Well
First, remove the shipping cover from the bushing well. Carefully insert the bushing well through the pre-drilled tank hole (2.562±.015” or 65mm±0.3mm diameter) and center it. Ensure the gasket is properly positioned between the bushing well and the tank's inside surface. Assemble the clamp over the bushing well, then apply the lockwashers and nuts onto the weld studs.
- Secure the Bushing Well
Alternately torque the nuts on each stud in gradual steps until each nut reaches a final torque of 75 to 90 inch-pounds (8.5-10 Newton-meters). This ensures even pressure and a secure, leak-free seal.
- Install Mating Products or Protect Interface
Proceed to install the mating products (e.g., 15kV or 25kV class connectors) to the bushing well, following the specific instructions provided with those mating products. If mating products are not to be installed immediately, replace the shipping cover onto the bushing well. DANGER: Do not energize or submerge the apparatus with only the shipping cover on the bushing well, as it is not insulated or watertight and is only intended to keep surfaces clean during handling and installation.
