Overview

The ABB E-Z-Ground Figure 8 Copper Compression Ground Rod Tap Connector (SKU: GR1-202) from ABB Installation Products delivers unmatched reliability and performance for critical grounding applications in industrial, commercial, and utility environments. Engineered from heavy-wall, extruded high-conductivity copper, this connector ensures superior mechanical strength and premium electrical conductivity, making it ideal for demanding installations where safety and durability are paramount. Designed for versatility, the GR1-202 accommodates cable ranges from 2 AWG to 2/0 AWG while securely connecting to 1-inch ground rods, including copper-clad, solid copper, and stainless steel variants. Its figure-8 cross-connect-style design minimizes part count and simplifies installation, reducing labor time and material overhead. The pre-applied conductive antioxidant compound guarantees a high-quality mechanical and electrical bond, enhancing corrosion resistance and long-term performance even in harsh, direct-burial conditions. UL 467 listed for grounding and bonding applications, this connector meets rigorous safety standards for both earth and concrete installations when used with approved crimp tools and dies. The Panduit die index markings ensure proper crimp die selection, eliminating guesswork and ensuring consistent, reliable connections every time. For galvanized steel ground rods, tin-plated versions (suffix "TP") are available to optimize compatibility and performance. Key applications include utility substations, telecommunications infrastructure, industrial facilities, and commercial buildings where robust, code-compliant grounding is essential. Whether deployed in new construction or maintenance projects, the GR1-202 delivers a durable, low-maintenance solution that reduces downtime and enhances system integrity. Trust ABB’s legacy of engineering excellence to power your most critical grounding needs with confidence.
