Supplies needed:
Lubricant (supplied), Copper wire (No. 14 AWG or equivalent), Insulated cap or elbow connector (if not mating immediately)
- Inspect and Prepare Bushing Well
Ensure the apparatus bushing well is dry and free from contaminants. Remove the protective shipping cover from the bushing insert. Lubricate the bushing well interface area of the bushing insert with the supplied lubricant or an approved alternative. Do not substitute lubricants, as others may damage the product.
- Install the Bushing Insert
Place the lubricated bushing insert into the apparatus bushing well. Hand-tighten clockwise until it bottoms. Alternatively, use the 200AT assembly tool: insert it into the bushing insert bore until fully seated, then use a rod to rotate clockwise until the tool ratchets, indicating proper torque (164-204 in/lbs). Remove the 200AT. Caution: Use only hand tightening or the 200AT to avoid damage. Ensure the 200AT is calibrated and its torque limiter is not less than 120 in-lbs.
- Connect Grounding Wire
Thread a length of copper wire (No. 14 AWG or equivalent) through one of the grounding tabs on the bushing insert. Create a small, tight loop without damaging the tab. Connect the free end of this electrostatic grounding wire to the system ground using a suitable connector. Ensure the wire does not contact bushing interfaces or interfere with accessory placement.
- Prepare for Mating Product Installation
Thoroughly clean and lubricate the bushing interface. Install mating products (elbow connector, insulated cap, or grounding elbow connector) according to their specific instructions. If not mating immediately, replace the protective shipping cover. Do not energize or submerge the apparatus with the shipping cover in place, as it is not insulated or watertight.
- Verify Seating
Confirm that the mating product is fully assembled by ensuring no part of the yellow band is visible when viewed from the side. This indicates a complete seating of the insulated cap or elbow.
