- Operator adapters include an adapter plate and additional components needed to interlock the master door with the disconnect operating mechanism
- Installation instructions are included with each operator adapter
- Each brand and type of disconnect requires a different operator adapter
- A 400A (or greater) disconnect switch and 600A (or greater) circuit breaker require the large handle
- A 200A (or less) disconnect switch and 400A (or less) circuit breaker require a small handle

How to Install the WAMT Operator Adapter
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the WAMT Operator Adapter for Westinghouse Type AMT mechanisms in electrical enclosures.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Drill, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Plate gasket, Nylon washers, Shoulder collar, Flat washers, Lockwashers, Hex nuts, Interlock blade
- Install the adapter plate
Secure the adapter plate and plate gasket inside the enclosure behind the rectangular opening using four screws and four nylon washers.
- Assemble the operating handle
Attach the Westinghouse 'AMTOP' operating handle to the mounting plate installed in step 1, omitting the cap screw and lockwasher for the bottom hole.
- Install the slide arm
Place the slide arm over the 'AMTOP' operating handle, insert the shoulder collar through the oval slot, and secure it with a long cap screw and lockwasher.
- Connect the slide arm to the lock release mechanism
Attach the bottom of the slide arm to the offset arm of the lock release mechanism using flat washers, lockwashers, and hex nuts, but do not tighten yet.
- Adjust the safety lock release mechanism
Check and adjust the roller bracket and the length of the slide arm assembly to ensure the safety lock releases just before the master door is fully latched.
- Install the cover interlock blade
Attach the cover interlock blade to the door using screws and lockwashers, ensuring it prevents door opening when the 'AMTOP' handle is in the 'ON' position.
- Drill and tap holes for disconnect
Drill and tap the necessary holes in the panel for the disconnect switch as per Westinghouse instructions.
- Install the panel
Securely install the panel back into the enclosure.
- Mount the disconnect switch
Follow Westinghouse instructions to mount the disconnect switch or circuit breaker on the installed panel.
