How to Install the TFP62SS Side-Mount Filter Fan
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the TFP62SS side-mount filter fan in an enclosure, ensuring proper airflow and electrical safety.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Grounding wire
- Determine the installation location
Identify the appropriate location on the enclosure for the TFP62SS fan, ensuring it is mounted on a vertical side and allows clearance for electrical components.
- Cut the enclosure for fan installation
Clear all wires and components from the area, then make the proper size cutout in the enclosure according to the provided specifications.
- Ground the fan housing
If required, connect a grounding wire to the fan housing using the green grounding screw provided, ensuring compliance with N.E.C. standards.
- Mount the fan to the plenum
Secure the TFP62SS fan to the plenum using the supplied thread cutting screws, ensuring it is firmly attached.
- Insert the fan assembly into the enclosure
Place the assembled fan package into the cutout, ensuring the gasket is positioned between the plenum and the enclosure wall.
- Secure the fan package
Use the supplied screws, lockwashers, and nuts to secure the fan package in place within the enclosure.
- Install the filter and grille
For the TFP62SS model, snap the finger guard in place and insert the filter so that the white fabric side faces into the enclosure and the foam side faces out. Finally, snap the grille over the fan package.
- Connect the fan to power
Connect the two fan lead wires to the appropriate voltage power source, ensuring all wiring complies with local codes.
- Verify installation
Check all connections and ensure that the fan is securely mounted and properly wired before restoring power to the enclosure.
