How to Install the T703646G400 Air Conditioner

Installation guide for mounting and wiring the T703646G400 air conditioner.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Wrench, Ratchet driver, Screwdriver

Supplies needed:

Mounting gasket kit

  1. Inspect and test the air conditioner

Inspect the air conditioner for any shipping damage. If the unit has been in a horizontal position, ensure it is placed upright for at least 5 minutes before operating. Test the unit by connecting it to a properly grounded power supply and verifying that the evaporator blower starts. Allow the unit to run for 5-10 minutes with the compressor operating. Check that condenser air temperatures are warmer than normal room temperatures within a few minutes after the condenser air blower starts. Refer to the nameplate for specific electrical requirements and ensure the circuit ampacity is at least 125% of the amperage shown in the design data section. Do not connect other equipment to this circuit to prevent overloading.

  2. Prepare for mounting

Install the mounting gasket to the back of the air conditioner using the provided mounting gasket kit. Refer to the 'Mounting Cutout Dimensions' section for the correct gasket placement based on your unit's tonnage (3 Ton or 5 Ton).

  3. Mount the air conditioner

Mount the air conditioner onto the enclosure, taking care not to damage the mounting gasket, as it forms the seal between the unit and the enclosure. Avoid dragging the air conditioner on the enclosure with the gasket attached to prevent rips or tears.

  4. Secure the mounting bolts

Start the mounting bolts by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten them with a wrench or ratchet driver.

  5. Wire the unit

Refer to the nameplate for electrical requirements and wire the unit to a properly grounded power supply. The electrical circuit should be fused with a slow-blow fuse or a HACR circuit breaker. If a remote-mounted thermostat is required, wire its outputs to the appropriate terminals on the 24VAC terminal strip, referencing the wiring diagram for correct locations.

  6. Set the thermostat

Set the thermostat for the required cabinet temperature. Refer to the 'Sequence of Operation' section for thermostat adjustment and operation details. For cooling, the typical range is 75-100°F, and for heating, it's 55-65°F. Note that extended operation below 70°F can cause coil freeze-ups.
