This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the MCS/SPM-3R series floor standing enclosures, including preparing the mounting surface, installing the lift handle, top panel, back panel, and bottom plates.
Estimated time: 1h 30m
Tools needed:
T30 Torx screwdriver, SW19 wrench, T25 Torx screwdriver
Supplies needed:
M6x12 screws, M12x20 screws, M5x10 screws, St. 5.5x10 screws, M8x16 screws, Floor plate (if mounting on combustible surface), Environmental sealing devices (for closing openings), BG01 sealing component (for IP55, ordered separately)
- Prepare Mounting Surface and Ensure Safety
If mounting the enclosure on or over a combustible surface, install a floor plate of at least 1.43 mm galvanized or 1.6 mm uncoated steel. This plate must extend at least 150 mm beyond the equipment on all sides. Additionally, use devices with the same environmental ratings to close any openings in customized enclosures to maintain environmental integrity.
- Mount the Lift Handle
Attach the lift handle to the enclosure using 2 M6x12 screws and 4 M12x20 screws. For the initial tightening, apply a torque of 15-20 Nm. For subsequent tightenings, apply a torque of 4-5 Nm. Use a T30 Torx screwdriver and an SW19 wrench for this step.
- Install the Top Panel
Secure the top panel to the enclosure. Use M5x10 screws (2 pcs for enclosures <1000mm wide, 16 pcs for enclosures >1000mm wide) and M6x12 screws (18 pcs for enclosures >1000mm wide). Apply a torque of 4-5 Nm. Use T25 and T30 Torx screwdrivers.
- Install the Back Panel
Attach the back panel to the enclosure. Apply a torque of 4.5-5 Nm for some fasteners and 10-15 Nm for others, as indicated in the assembly diagrams. Use a T25 Torx screwdriver for this step.
- Mount the Bottom Plates
Install the bottom plates, including the bottom right, bottom left, top right, and top left sections. Use 6 or 8 St. 5.5x10 screws and 2 M8x16 screws. Apply a torque of 10-15 Nm. Use a T30 Torx screwdriver.
- Seal the Bottom Plates (Optional for IP55)
If an IP55 environmental rating is required for the enclosure, seal the bottom plates. This step requires the BG01 sealing component, which must be ordered separately. Refer to the instructions provided with the BG01 for proper sealing procedures.
