Overview

The nVent Quick Tray Pro Wire Mesh Cable Tray System (SKU: QTP2X24) is a high-performance, lightweight solution designed to efficiently route and support cables in commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. Engineered for durability and flexibility, this 2.00" x 24.00" x 120.00" straight section is constructed from galvanized steel wire mesh, offering exceptional strength-to-weight ratio while maintaining excellent airflow for cable cooling. The light gray powder-coated finish provides corrosion resistance and a professional appearance suitable for exposed installations in offices, data centers, manufacturing plants, and healthcare environments. This modular cable management system is a cornerstone of modern infrastructure, enabling professionals to design scalable, accessible pathways for power, data, and control cables. Unlike solid-bottom trays, the open-mesh design of the Quick Tray Pro system reduces cable weight stress, minimizes dust accumulation, and allows for rapid visual inspection and maintenance—critical for facilities requiring high uptime and compliance with safety standards. The system’s design supports compliance with NEC, OSHA, and other regulatory guidelines for cable support and separation. Professionals choose the Quick Tray Pro system for its ease of installation and system-wide compatibility. The straight section integrates seamlessly with elbows, tees, crosses, and accessories from the Quick Tray Pro family, allowing for custom configurations that adapt to complex layouts, including ceilings, walls, and underfloor environments. Installation is simplified through the use of nVent’s patented slide-and-lock joint system, which eliminates the need for specialized tools and reduces labor time by up to 40% compared to traditional tray systems. This efficiency is especially valuable in large-scale projects such as data centers, hospitals, and industrial automation facilities where downtime must be minimized. The Quick Tray Pro Wire Mesh Cable Tray System is ideal for a wide range of applications, including: - Data centers and server rooms: Supporting high-density cabling with superior airflow to prevent thermal throttling - Manufacturing and processing plants: Routing power and control cables in harsh, high-vibration environments - Commercial buildings and offices: Providing clean, organized cable pathways in ceiling plenums and under raised floors - Healthcare facilities: Meeting stringent hygiene and safety requirements with corrosion-resistant materials - Renewable energy installations: Managing DC and AC cabling in solar and wind power systems nVent, a global leader in electrical and thermal management solutions, brings decades of expertise to the Quick Tray Pro system. How to Install and Customize QUICK TRAY PRO Cable Tray

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for cutting, bending, and joining QUICK TRAY PRO Cable Tray sections to create a custom cable management installation.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

QTPBC Side Action Bolt Cutter

Supplies needed:

QUICK TRAY PRO Cable Tray sections, QTPBNWK Splice Kit, QTPSSW3 Splice Washer, QTPUS10 Universal Splice Bar, QTP90TKIT T-Connection or 90o Splice Bar

  1. Cut QUICK TRAY PRO Cable Tray Sections

Use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter (QTPBC) to cut the QUICK TRAY PRO Cable Tray. First, decide which wires must be cut for your desired configuration. Starting with the top side wire, position the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and make the cut at an angle away from the new end. Repeat for all remaining side wires. Turn the tray over and cut the bottom wires from the underside, resting the cutting jaws on the cradle wire and cutting at an angle away from the new end. Ensure one clean cut to minimize sharp edges that could snag wire and help protect against corrosion.

  2. Create a 90-Degree Bend in the Tray

At the desired bend location, cut the necessary side and bottom wires according to the cutting pattern for your specific tray width. Turn the tray on the uncut side. Smoothly bend the tray upwards until the inside edges closest to the uncut side meet. Secure the bend by fastening it with QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers, as indicated for your tray width.

  3. Assemble an Elbow Connection

To create an elbow, cut the side wires from each of the two tray sections according to the specific cutting pattern for your tray width. Align the wires of the two trays at the desired angle. Fasten the tray sections together using two QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and the corresponding QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers for each joint. For an adjustable angle, use one Splice Kit and one Splice Washer, centered over two tray bottom wires.
