How to Install the P2C187 PROLINE G2 Enclosure

Installation guide for mounting and securing the P2C187 PROLINE G2 enclosure.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Measuring tape, Level, Drill, Screwdriver, Pliers, Wire cutters, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting hardware (screws, anchors), Wire connectors, Gasket sealant (if applicable)

  1. Select Mounting Location

Choose a suitable location for the enclosure. Ensure the mounting surface is flat, stable, and can support the weight of the enclosure and its contents. Consider environmental factors and accessibility for maintenance. Refer to the datasheet for specific environmental ratings and weight information.

  2. Prepare Mounting Surface

Using a measuring tape and level, mark the desired mounting points on the surface. Drill pilot holes if necessary, and install appropriate anchors if mounting to a masonry or drywall surface. Ensure the mounting points are aligned and level.

  3. Mount the Enclosure

Position the P2C187 enclosure against the prepared mounting surface, aligning the mounting holes on the enclosure with the marked points or anchors. Secure the enclosure using appropriate mounting hardware (screws, bolts). Ensure the enclosure is firmly attached and level. For wall-mount enclosures, ensure the door opens in the correct direction and can be secured.

  4. Install Gasket and Sealant (If Applicable)

If your enclosure came with a gasket, ensure it is properly seated in the groove around the door or frame to maintain environmental protection. If required by the environment, apply gasket sealant according to its manufacturer's instructions.

  5. Prepare for Wiring

Identify the planned locations for cable entry. If knockouts are present, remove them using appropriate tools (e.g., knockout punch). Install cable glands or conduit fittings as needed to ensure a secure and environmentally sealed connection point for your wiring. Refer to the enclosure's specifications for maximum wire fill and conduit size limitations.

  6. Wire the Enclosure Components

Route your electrical wiring into the enclosure through the prepared entry points. Connect the wires to the appropriate terminals, devices, or components within the enclosure according to your system's design and electrical codes. Use wire cutters and strippers as needed. Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated. Refer to the component datasheets for specific wiring instructions and terminal layouts. Verify voltage and current ratings are within the specified limits for all components.

  7. Final Inspection and Closure

Visually inspect all wiring and connections to ensure they are correct, secure, and properly insulated. Check that no tools or debris are left inside the enclosure. Close and secure the enclosure door, ensuring the latch or locking mechanism engages properly. If applicable, test the door seal.
