This guide provides detailed instructions for assembling the MCS-3R floor standing combinable enclosures, covering the installation of the lift handle, top panel, back panel, and bottom plates to ensure proper construction and environmental integrity.
Estimated time: 1h 30m
Tools needed:
Torx T30 driver, Socket wrench 10mm, Torx T25 driver
Supplies needed:
M5x10 screws, M6x12 screws, St. 5.5x10 screws, M8x16 screws, BG01 sealing components (optional)
- Ensure Safety and Prepare Mounting Surface
Before beginning assembly, ensure the mounting surface is appropriate. If mounting on or over a combustible surface, install a floor plate of at least 1.43 mm galvanized or 1.6 mm uncoated steel, extending at least 150 mm beyond the equipment on all sides. Also, ensure that any devices used to close customized enclosure openings have the same environmental ratings to maintain enclosure integrity.
- Install the Lift Handle
Attach the lift handle to the enclosure using the M5x10 screws. Use a Torx T30 driver and a 10mm socket wrench (SW10) to tighten the screws to a torque of 4-5.5 Nm. Refer to diagram 5 in the documentation for placement.
- Secure the Top Panel
Position the top panel on the enclosure. Secure it using M5x10 screws and M6x12 screws as indicated in diagram 8. Use a Torx T25 driver and Torx T30 driver to tighten all screws to a torque of 4-5 Nm. Note that the quantity of screws may vary based on enclosure width (e.g., for widths >1000mm).
- Mount the Back Panel
Place the back panel into position. Fasten it using St. 5.5x10 screws. Use a Torx T25 driver to tighten the screws to a torque of 4.5-5 Nm. Refer to diagram 9 for screw locations. Note that some screws are used only on 1200mm wide enclosures.
- Assemble the Bottom Plates
Mount the bottom plates (bottom right, bottom left, top right, top left) to the enclosure. Use the M8x16 screws and a Torx T30 driver. For the first tightening, apply a torque of 10-15 Nm. For subsequent tightenings, reduce the torque to 4-5 Nm. Refer to diagram 10 for the correct orientation and screw placement.
- Apply Bottom Plate Sealing (for IP55)
If an IP55 environmental rating is required, install the BG01 sealing components (ordered separately) to the bottom plates. Ensure proper placement to maintain the enclosure's environmental integrity. Refer to diagram 11 for sealing instructions.
