Non-metallic snap style Romex connector for confined and tight areas. It is made of heat treated carbon steel with a bright finish. The connector is sized for one cable and is listed for 14/2, 12/2, 10/2, 14/3, 12/3, and 10/3 cable. How to Install the MCU Unit
This guide outlines the mechanical installation and fastening procedures for the MCU unit, including specific torque requirements for various components.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Torque wrench, Screwdriver set (including Torx T25 bit)
Supplies needed:
M5x10 screws (6), M6x12 screws (6), M12x20 screws (4), M12 nuts (4), M8 nuts (4), M8 washers (4), M8x16 screws (4), 4.5x8 screws (6M), M6 nuts (4), Gasket, CCI06 brackets (optional, if bayed variant), CNT05 brackets (optional, for alternative fixation)
- Prepare Unit and Gasket
Identify the mounting location for the MCU unit. For MCU units 1000mm wide or greater, ensure the gasket is correctly positioned and fixed outside the corner holes.
- Install Primary Fasteners
Secure the main structural elements using four M12x20 screws (A) and four M12 nuts (B). Tighten these fasteners to a torque of 10-15 Nm. Use a torque wrench for accurate tightening.
- Install Secondary Fasteners
Attach other main components using four M8x16 screws (E), four M8 nuts (C), and four M8 washers (D). Tighten these connections to a torque of 8-10 Nm using a torque wrench.
- Secure Panels and Additional Components
Fasten panels or other components with six M6x12 screws (F). Apply a torque of 15-20 Nm. For smaller fixations, use six 4.5x8 screws (G) and tighten them to 4-5 Nm.
- Finalize Smaller Fastenings
Complete the assembly by installing six M5x10 screws (H) and four M6 nuts (J). Tighten both types of fasteners to a torque of 4-5 Nm.
- Apply Alternative Fixation (Optional)
If using the alternative fixation method with CNT05 brackets (ordered separately), secure the component using the T25 fastener. Apply a torque of 4.5-5 Nm. Refer to the CNT05 documentation for further details on steps 2 and 3 of this method.
