This guide provides step-by-step instructions for the complete assembly of the MCS-3R series floor standing electrical enclosure, including mounting panels, installing guiders, and securing locking systems. Ensure all safety warnings regarding combustible surfaces and environmental integrity are observed during installation.
Estimated time: 2h
Tools needed:
Wrench (SW3, SW10, SW13, SW19), Torx Driver (T25, T30)
Supplies needed:
M5x10 screws, M6x12 screws, M12x20 bolts, St. 5.5x10 screws, M8x16 bolts, Metal Guiders (4 pcs), BG01 sealing kit (optional, for IP55)
- Prepare Installation Area and Review Safety Warnings
Before starting, ensure the installation area is clear and safe. If mounting on or over a combustible surface, install a floor plate of at least 1.43 mm galvanized or 1.6 mm uncoated steel, extended at least 150 mm beyond the equipment on all sides. To maintain environmental integrity, use devices with the same environmental ratings to close any customized openings in the enclosure.
- Install Metal Guiders
Secure the four metal guiders to the enclosure frame using the M5x10 screws. Tighten each screw to a torque of 4-5.5 Nm. Refer to Pic 3a/4 in the documentation for visual guidance on placement.
- Mount Side Panels
Attach the side panels to the enclosure structure. Use the M6x12 screws and M12x20 bolts as indicated in Pic 7. Tighten the M6x12 screws to 15-20 Nm and the M12x20 bolts to 8-9 Nm (for the first tightening; subsequent tightening recommended at 4-5 Nm). Note that M12x20 bolts are used on enclosures 800mm deep and above.
- Mount Top Panel
Install the top panel using the M5x10 and M6x12 screws as shown in Pic 8. Tighten all screws to a torque of 4-5 Nm. M6x12 screws are used on enclosures 1000mm wide and above.
- Mount Back Panel
Attach the back panel to the enclosure frame using the St. 5.5x10 screws as depicted in Pic 9. Tighten these screws to a torque of 4.5-5 Nm. For specific points, tighten to 10-15 Nm. Note that some fasteners are used only on 1200mm wide enclosures.
- Mount Bottom Plates
Install the bottom plates (bottom right, bottom left, top right, top left) using the M8x16 bolts. Refer to Pic 10 for the correct orientation and fastening points. Tighten the M8x16 bolts to a torque of 10-15 Nm. Ensure the plates click into place during mounting.
- Install Lift Handle and Locking System
Mount the lift handle and the standard or lift handle locking system. For the lift handle, use a T30 driver as shown in Pic 5, ensuring the 180-degree rotation is performed correctly. For the locking systems, follow the assembly steps in Pic 6, noting the 180-degree rotation for the transparent covers (ordered separately).
- Seal Bottom Plates (Optional for IP55)
If an IP55 environmental rating is required, install the BG01 sealing kit (ordered separately) to the bottom plates. Refer to Pic 11 for the sealing procedure. This step is crucial for maintaining the specified environmental integrity.
