This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the MCS-3R series floor-standing enclosures, including mounting internal components, external panels, and ensuring proper sealing.
Estimated time: 1h 30m
Tools needed:
Torx T25 wrench, Torx T30 wrench, Socket Wrench SW3, Socket Wrench SW10, Socket Wrench SW13, Socket Wrench SW19, Torque Wrench
Supplies needed:
M5x10 screws, M6x12 screws, M12x20 screws, St. 5.5x10 screws, M8x16 screws, Metal Guiders, Lift Handle, Bottom Plates, BG01 sealing components (if IP55 required)
- Assemble Mounting Plate Components
Attach the four metal guiders to the mounting plate using M5x10 screws. Use a SW3 and SW10 wrench to tighten the screws to a torque of 4-5.5 Nm. Ensure all guiders are securely fastened.
- Install the Lift Handle
Position the lift handle on the enclosure door. Insert the required screws and tighten them using a T30 Torx wrench. After tightening, rotate the handle 180 degrees to its operational position.
- Attach the Enclosure Door
Secure the door to the enclosure frame using two M6x12 screws and four M12x20 screws. Use a T30 and SW19 wrench. Tighten the M12x20 screws to an initial torque of 8-9 Nm, then to a final torque of 4-5 Nm for subsequent tightening. Tighten the M6x12 screws to 15-20 Nm. WARNING: To maintain environmental integrity, use devices with the same environmental ratings to close openings in customized enclosures.
- Install Bottom Plates
Mount the bottom plates (bottom right, bottom left, top right, top left) to the enclosure using M8x16 screws. Use a T30 Torx wrench to tighten the screws to a torque of 10-15 Nm. WARNING: When mounting on or over a combustible surface, a floor plate of at least 1.43 mm galvanized or 1.6 mm uncoated steel extended at least 150 mm beyond the equipment on all sides must be installed.
- Seal Bottom Plates for IP55 Rating
If an IP55 rating is required, install the BG01 sealing components (ordered separately) to the bottom plates. Ensure a complete and tight seal to maintain the enclosure's environmental integrity.
