How to Install the IW4000 Infrared Window
Guide for installing the IW4000 Infrared Window onto a flat surface of a type 4/12 enclosure.

Tools needed:
Hydraulic punch or hole saw (73 mm - 74 mm), Drill, Conedrill, Pozidrive screwdriver, Center punch, 6 mm (1/4 in.) drill bit, 3.6 mm (9/64 in.) drill bit
Supplies needed:
Fixing screws (4), Drilling template
- Prepare the mounting surface
Peel off the back of the drilling template and stick it to the desired flat surface of the enclosure, using the template reference points to confirm position.
- Mark fixing holes
Using the center punch, mark the fixing holes and the center hole as indicated by the template.
- Drill center hole
Using the 6 mm (1/4 in.) twist drill bit, drill out the center hole.
- Drill fixing holes
Using the 3.6 mm (9/64 in.) twist drill bit, drill out the fixing holes.
- Enlarge center hole
If using a hole saw, use the previously drilled 6 mm (1/4 in.) hole as a guide to enlarge the center hole. If using a hydraulic hole punch, refer to its manual and follow safety procedures. De-burr all holes and treat as required.
- Prepare and mount the window
Degrease the front panel. Align the fixing holes of the Infrared Window and firmly press it into place. Secure the window to the panel using three of the four supplied countersunk screws. Gradually advance each fixing screw until a torque setting between 0.5 – 1 lbf.ft (0.68 – 1.36 N.m) is achieved, ensuring the unit is secure.
- Final check
Ensure the viewport cover is secured in place to maintain the enclosure type rating.
