How to Install the Top-Mount Filter Fan
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing a top-mount filter fan in an enclosure, ensuring proper airflow and cooling.
Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, M6 hex nuts, Gasket, Filter, Grilles
- Prepare the enclosure
Apply the cutout template to the top of the enclosure at the desired location. Ensure that all internal components are clear of the cutting area to avoid damage.
- Cut the hole
Cut out the hole in the enclosure as per the template. Deburr the cutting edge to remove any sharp edges.
- Install the gasket
Apply the gasket to the enclosure around the cutout hole to ensure a proper seal.
- Mount the filter fan
Insert the top-mount filter fan over the gasket and into the cutout hole. Secure it using M6 hex nuts and torque them to 35 in/lbs (4 Nm).
- Install the filter
Place the filter around the filter fan to ensure proper air filtration.
- Reinstall the cowl top
Reinstall the cowl top onto the filter fan to complete the assembly.
- Install the grilles
Use the grille cutout templates to install one or two grilles as needed, ensuring the correct cutout size for the model purchased.
- Verify clearance
Ensure that the installed top-mount filter fan and grilles have a minimum clearance of 7.00 inches (178 mm) from any obstructions.
- Wire the filter fan
Follow the wiring diagram provided to connect the filter fan to the power supply correctly.
