How to Install the Side-Mount Filter Fans and Grilles
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing side-mount filter fans and grilles in an enclosure.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter, Drill
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cutout template
- Prepare the enclosure
Apply the cutout template to the desired side of the enclosure and verify that all internal components are clear of the cutting area.
- Cut the hole
Cut out the hole in the enclosure using the appropriate size for your model. Deburr the cutting edge to ensure a smooth finish.
- Insert the fan or grille
Insert the fan or grille into the opening and push until all four corners snap and lock into place.
- Install mounting fasteners
If the enclosure material thickness is between 0.10 inches (2.5 mm) and 0.14 inches (3.5 mm), install mounting fasteners. For thickness greater than 0.14 inches (3.5 mm), removal of the grille is required to install the fasteners.
- Torque fasteners
Torque the fasteners to 20-25 in-lbs (2.3-2.8 Nm) to ensure a secure installation.
- Wire the filter fan
Follow the wire diagrams provided in the manual to connect the filter fan correctly.
- Verify clearance
Ensure that the installed filter fan has a minimum clearance of 7.00 inches (178 mm) from any obstruction.
