How to Install the Side-Mount Filter Fans and Grilles
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing side-mount filter fans and grilles in an enclosure, ensuring proper fit and functionality.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Drill, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cutout template
- Prepare the enclosure
Apply the cutout template to the desired location on the side of the enclosure. Ensure it is aligned correctly before proceeding.
- Cut the opening
Using the appropriate tool, cut the hole in the enclosure according to the size specified for your model. Deburr the cutting edge to avoid sharp edges.
- Insert the fan or grille
Insert the fan or grille into the cutout opening and push until all four corners snap and lock into place.
- Secure the installation
If the enclosure material thickness is between 0.10 (2.5 mm) and 0.14 (3.5 mm), install mounting fasteners. For thickness greater than 0.14 (3.5 mm), fasteners are required. Remove the grille to access the mounting holes if necessary.
- Wire the filter fan
Follow the wiring diagrams provided for your specific model to connect the filter fan. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
- Verify clearance
Ensure that the installed filter fan has a minimum clearance of 7.00 (178 mm) from any obstruction to allow for proper airflow.
- Test the installation
Power on the filter fan and use a multimeter to verify that it is operating correctly. Check for any unusual noises or vibrations.
