How to Install the Side-Mount Filter Fans and Grilles
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing side-mount filter fans and grilles in an enclosure, ensuring proper ventilation.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Cutout template
- Prepare the enclosure
Apply the cutout template to the desired location on the side of the enclosure. Ensure all internal components are clear of the cutting area to avoid damage.
- Cut the opening
Using the appropriate size cutout tool, cut the hole in the enclosure as specified for your model. Deburr the cutting edge to prevent injury.
- Insert the fan or grille
Insert the fan or grille into the opening and push until all four corners snap and lock into place. If necessary, use mounting fasteners for thicker materials.
- Install mounting fasteners
If the enclosure material thickness is between 0.10 inches (2.5 mm) and 0.14 inches (3.5 mm), install mounting fasteners by removing the grille and drilling out the mounting holes as needed.
- Torque fasteners
Torque the fasteners to 20-25 in-lbs (2.3-2.8 Nm) to ensure a secure fit.
- Wire the filter fan
Follow the wiring diagrams provided in the manual to connect the filter fan to the power supply. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Verify clearance
Ensure that the installed filter fan has a minimum clearance of 7.00 inches (178 mm) from any obstruction to allow for proper airflow.
