- Each brand and type of disconnect requires a different operator adapter
- A 400A (or greater) disconnect switch and 600A (or greater) circuit breaker require the large handle

How to Install the GEV Operator Adapter
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the GEV Operator Adapter for General Electric variable depth operating mechanisms.

Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Nylon washers, Flat washers, Lockwashers, Hex nuts
- Install the adapter plate
Secure the adapter plate (item 1) and plate gasket (item 2) inside the enclosure behind the rectangular opening. Use four screws (item 3) and four nylon washers (item 14) to secure it.
- Assemble the operating handle
Attach the General Electric STDA operating handle to the mounting plate installed in step 1. Omit the cap screw and lockwasher that fit into the bottom hole of the handle.
- Install the slide arm
Place the slide arm (item 4) over the interlock part of the operating handle. Ensure the notch in the slide arm is positioned toward the door opening. Insert the shoulder collar (item 5) through the slide arm and secure it with a long cap screw (item 6) and lockwasher (item 7).
- Connect the slide arm to the lock release mechanism
Attach the bottom of the slide arm to the offset arm of the lock release mechanism using two flat washers (item 8), two lockwashers (item 9), and two hex nuts (item 10). Do not tighten yet.
- Adjust the safety lock release mechanism
Check the adjustment of the roller bracket to ensure the door latch hits the latch stop when closed. Adjust as necessary. Then, adjust the length of the slide arm assembly so the safety lock releases just before the master door is fully latched.
- Install the door catch
Attach the door catch (item 11) to the tapped spacer on the door using two screws (item 12) and lockwashers (item 13). This prevents the door from opening when the operating handle is in the 'ON' position.
- Drill and tap holes in the panel
Follow General Electric instructions to drill and tap holes in the panel for fuse blocks, ensuring proper placement for 200 AMP switches.
- Install the panel
Secure the panel in the enclosure according to the installation specifications.
- Mount the disconnect switch
Install the disconnect switch or circuit breaker and operating mechanism on the panel using General Electric instructions. Ensure all components are securely attached.
