Overview

The nVent F88WP Closure Plate Feed-Through Wireway Seal is a precision-engineered termination solution for NEMA Type 12 wireway systems. This 8.00 x 8.00 inch (203 x 203 mm) gray mild steel plate provides a durable, code-compliant closure for industrial wireway runs. The closure plate features a flange gasket and mounting screws (included) to create a tight seal at wireway terminations, preventing contaminants from entering the conduit system while maintaining electrical safety. The gray powder-coated finish enhances corrosion resistance and provides a professional appearance suitable for cleanroom, manufacturing, and automation environments. Compatible with standard wireway sections, the F88WP allows for quick installation and minimal downtime during maintenance or reconfiguration. Its robust mild steel construction ensures long-term durability in high-vibration or high-temperature environments. The design permits easy removal and reinstallation when access to the wireway interior is required, reducing maintenance time and improving operational efficiency.

How to Install the Feed-Through Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Feed-Through Wireway, ensuring proper assembly and secure connections.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Lockwashers

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Install the telescope fitting

Assemble the telescope fitting parts in the correct order, insert it into the straight section, and adjust to the desired length. Ensure the gasket is properly positioned against the flange.

  3. Anchor the telescope fitting

Drill .25 inch diameter holes through the sides of the straight section and telescope fitting. Install .25−20x.5 screws from the outside and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.

  4. Install swivel nipples

Position the wireway section, flange gasket, swivel ring, and swivel nipple in the correct order. Secure them with screws and nuts, ensuring all components are tightly fastened.

  5. Make box entries

Cut out the necessary openings in the enclosure for the box connector. Position the connector flange and gasket inside the enclosure, and attach the swivel nipple on the outside.

  6. Verify grounding continuity

If the wireway is to be used for grounding, ensure that there is continuity across the telescope fitting by checking connections with a multimeter.
