How to Install the Lay-In Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and sealing the Lay-In Wireway sections in a control enclosure.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Gaskets, Mounting screws, Nuts, Wire connectors

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Seal the joints

For joints between lay-in sections, position the LSGQR fitting, leaving out the top flange screw on the hinge side. Install the fitting with a shoulder bolt through the flange and ensure gaskets are visible from above.

  3. Install box entries

Make a cutout in the control enclosure for the wireway entry. Position the box connector and a gasket inside the enclosure, then install a 90° angle sealing plate as described in the sealing method.

  4. Adjust telescope fitting

Assemble the compression ring, gasket, and retainer on the telescope fitting body. Insert the body into the straight section and adjust to the desired length.

  5. Anchor the telescope fitting

If the telescope fitting is used vertically, drill .25 inch diameter holes through the sides and bottom of the straight section and telescope fitting. Install .25−20x.5 screws through the holes and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.

  6. Calibrate the wireway

Ensure that all sections are level and securely fastened. Check for proper grounding continuity across the telescope fitting if used for grounding.
