How to Install the Lay-In Wireway Sealing Plates
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling and installing sealing plates for lay-in wireway systems.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Drill
Supplies needed:
Shoulder bolts, Closure plates, Gaskets
- Assemble sections or fittings
Assemble the sections or fittings as shown in figure 1. Ensure not to insert the top flange screw on the hinge side.
- Install the flat sealing plate
Install the quick release, flat sealing plate as shown in figure 2. Insert the shoulder bolt through the flanges and leave it in the open position like the hinged covers.
- Install wiring
Proceed to install the wiring as required for your application.
- Install the 90-degree angle sealing plate
Install the 90-degree angle sealing plate as shown in figure 3. For box entries, assemble a closure plate or join the lay-in to the regular wireway.
- Drill flange for joining
When joining lay-in wireway to regular wireway, drill the flange of the regular wireway using the upper angle plate as a template. This applies only to 2.5 x 2.5 and 4 x 4 sizes.
- Prepare for control enclosure entry
When entering a control enclosure or box with lay-in wireway, use the connector flange as a template for the cutout. Place a gasket between the lay-in section and the control enclosure or box.
