Overview

The nVent F66BB2C is a two-compartment barrier kit designed for 6.00x6.00 inch wireway systems. Manufactured by nVent, this kit provides essential compartmentalization for industrial wiring. Constructed from durable gray steel, it ensures structural integrity and resistance to common industrial conditions. The primary function of the F66BB2C is to divide a single wireway into two distinct sections, crucial for segregating different types of wiring such as power and data, preventing interference, and simplifying maintenance. Installation is facilitated by plated spring steel brackets that utilize a friction fit, eliminating the need for specialized tools. This barrier kit enhances cable segregation, improves safety by reducing the risk of shorts, and optimizes space within the wireway. Recommended spacing increments are 3 feet. The F66BB2C is specifically engineered for precise fit within 6.00x6.00 inch wireways. It is an essential component for manufacturing plants, data centers, control rooms, and commercial buildings where robust wire management is paramount. Note that the barrier and bracket are ordered separately, allowing for material customization if needed, though this kit is for steel barriers.

How to Install the Lay-In Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Lay-In Wireway, ensuring proper assembly and sealing for effective cable management.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Sealing plates

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Seal the joints

After installing the wires, seal each joint between the sections using either the LSGQR fitting method or the 90° angle sealing plate method, ensuring that gaskets are visible and properly positioned.

  3. Install box entries

Make a cutout in the enclosure for the box connector and position the gasket inside the enclosure. Then, install a 90° angle sealing plate to secure the connection between the wireway and the enclosure.

  4. Adjust and anchor telescope fitting

Assemble the telescope fitting with the compression ring and gasket. Insert it into the straight section, adjust to the desired length, and anchor it by drilling holes and installing screws.

  5. Calibrate and finalize installation

Ensure all connections are tight and secure. Verify grounding continuity if the wireway is used for grounding. Use touch-up paint to restore the original finish if necessary.
